Lochaber Live takes place from Friday 20th - Sunday 22nd September 2024.

The festival will be held on Frasers Field at An Aird Shinty Field in Fort William, PH33 6AN, with all music performances taking place in an all-standing, enclosed marquee.

Travelling to the festival

The festival site is located just a few minutes walk from both the Fort William train station and bus station.

There is no festival parking, and parking is not permitted on the site or anywhere in the surrounding area and residential streets. We encourage the use of public transport where possible and ask all attendees to leave the car at home if they can. There is limited accessible parking in the main Shinty Club car park for Blue Badge Holders which is available on a first come, first served basis.

If you need to be picked up or dropped off, we recommend the Morrisons Car Park, adjacent to the train station. Any vehicles waiting in the Shinty Club Car Park will be asked to move.

We do not offer camping or accommodation onsite but the local area has a range of accommodation options.

    Final entry on Friday and Saturday is at 21:00.

    When leaving the site, please respect our neighbours and keep noise to a minimum.

  • Yes there will be two bars, one inside the tent and another in the catering area inside the main gates. They will both take cash and card payments.

  • There will be food trucks from Highland Hog Roasts offering a range of hot food, including vegetarian and vegan options.

    We will also have Miele's Gelateria offering ice cream and a selection of sweet bites.

  • Attendees will not be permitted to bring food and drinks into the festival site, unless required due to dietary requirements, allergies or medical circumstances. Please let us know in advance or speak to security when you arrive.

    You can bring an empty water bottle to fill up on site.

  • No, we are unable to allow re-entry into the site and your ticket can only be scanned once each day.

    If you need to leave for any special circumstances, please speak to security BEFORE you leave the site. If your re-entry has not been approved by security in advance, you may not be permitted back into the site

    Last entry to the site is at 9pm on Friday and Saturday.

  • Yes there will be event toilets in the catering area outside the main tent.

  • Unfortunately we can’t accommodate pets anywhere on the festival site.

  • We have a range of Lochaber Live merchandise that will be available to purchase at the festival. Cash and card payments are accepted.

  • The main entrance to the festival is tarmac, however there is grass surrounding the marquee. There will be ground covering for access to the marquee and an accessible toilet on site.

    This is an all standing event with no seating available on the festival site.

    We will have a small platform for attendees with accessibility needs, with tickets available here.

    We are aware that some attendees may require support from a carer or companion to fully access the event. We offer a carer ticket option, which must be booked alongside a ticket for yourself. These tickets can be booked on the expectation that your carer will be able to assist you throughout your visit and would be your point of contact in the case of an evacuation.

  • This is an all standing event, taking place inside an enclosed marquee.

    Seating is not available and we are unable to allow people to bring their own seats or camping chairs due to Health & Safety concerns.

  • The following items are prohibited and will be removed by security:

    • Weapons, including but not limited to: firearms, knives, combat weapons, explosives, heavy chains, brass knuckles, clubs/bats/sticks, pepper spray, aerosol sprays, nitrous oxide, ammunition, explosives and explosive components, fireworks, CBR (chemical-biological-radiological) substances, projectiles of any kind and any replica of same items that could be mistakenly identified as weapons under this policy, or any weapon as defined in UK law.

    • Illegal drugs and substances, including unmarked liquid or pill medication bottles and nitrous oxide. Legally prescribed medications may be permitted if in a prescription bottle/container with a pharmacy-generated label containing the individual’s name – subject to verification via valid identification. Any other medications are considered on a case-by-case basis on site.

    • Bags and containers larger than 40cm x 40cm x 20cm.

    • Alcohol, cans, bottles, including any glass objects or vessels or metal cans and objects.

    • Food or drink (unless required due to allergies, dietary requirements or medical circumstances).

    • Liquids, gels and perfumes of more than 100ml.

    • Laser pens or pointers.

    • Professional cameras, including professional camera equipment (e.g., camera stand, lenses, and selfie sticks).

    • Fireworks, fire-starters, and open flames.

    • Laptops, tablets, audio recording equipment, noise-making devices or card reading devices. 

    • Skateboards and rollerblades, hover-boards, scooters, bicycles, and other personal motorized and non-motorised vehicles (except those required for accessibility).

    • Animals and pets of any kind.

    • Unauthorised solicitation, flags or marketing materials (e.g., posters, flyers, stickers).

    • All unapproved unmanned aerial systems (UAS) or drones unless expressly authorised in accordance with LNE’s Unmanned Aircraft Systems Policy.

    • Chairs or stools.

    • Helmets.

    • Large umbrellas.

    • Pushchairs, prams and buggies.

    • Spray cans, markers and graffiti pens.

    • Any item deemed to be dangerous by the Event Manager (the designated responsible person for the overall general event operations and implementing this policy) or local Police or Licensing Officer.

    (We may not be able to reply to emails when the event is live so please ensure you have your ticket in advance)

  • We are unable to issue refunds for tickets. You may be able to resell your ticket through Tixel here.

  • Tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable.

    In the event of a COVID-19 enforced delay to the event, tickets will be valid for rescheduled dates or a refund available within 14 days of the reschedule dates being announced.

    Under 18s must be accompanied by a responsible adult over the age of 21 (maximum 3 under 18s per adult over 21).

    A challenge 25 policy will be in operation at the gates ensuring guardians are 21 and over. Proof of age may be requested. Please bring acceptable photographic ID.

    ID may be requested to verify age for ticket types.

    Management reserves the right to refuse entry.

    Tickets are sold subject to the Promoter’s and the Management’s right to alter or vary the advertised Event where reasonably necessary. Artists and billed attractions are subject to change

    No food or drink can be brought onto the Festival Site, anyone found with alcohol that has been brought onto the site will be in contravention of licence conditions and as such will be removed from site with further access refused.

  • Lochaber Live follows the Challenge 25 policy (http://www.challenge25.org)

    You will be asked for identification on entering the festival and when purchasing alcoholic drinks.

    We strongly advise all attendees to bring photographic identification. If can't provide proof of your age when asked, you will not be issued with an over 18 band and will not be able to purchase alcohol.

    The following type of ID will be accepted (photocopies / pictures will not be accepted):

    • Current UK or Overseas Driving License/ Provisional License Photocard

    • Current UK or Overseas Current Passport

    • Overseas Only Valid National ID card

    • UK only 18 + PASS scheme card

    • Ireland Age Card

    • Forces I.D Card

    Under 18 tickets are available for purchase here. Anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult over 21 (maximum of three under 18s per adult 21+).

    There is no minimum age requirement but we do advise that the main event takes place within an enclosed marquee and is expected to be busy so may not be suitable for very young children.

    For Friday & Saturday, we cannot accommodate prams and buggies in the marquee and there will be very limited space on site for them so please leave them at home if possible. On the Free family Day on Sunday, prams and buggies are welcomed everywhere on the site. Please note, we cannot accept liability for prams and buggies brought onto site
